Description

Violin (Copie de Anno 1734, Carlo Bergonzzi.) The two piece maple back has medium flame descending from the center joint. The sides and scroll are of maple that matches the back. The two piece top is of spruce with medium wide grain in the center, narrowing at the edges. The varnish is dark brown on a dark golden ground. The violin is registered I-7586 in the records of the music shop this instrument was appraised (dated on October 21st, 2020) and is in good condition at this time.
Violin Bow
This now bears the brand: D. SILVEIRA. The round stick is of dark red brown pernambuco. The ebony frog is silver mounted and has a single pearl eye surrounded by a silver ring on each side. The 3 piece button is of silver and ebony and has a pearl eye at the end. The length of the stick is 73.4 cm excluding the nipple. The bow is registered I-13834 in the records this bow was purchased. There is light wear to the handle and head of the bow, and is in otherwise good condition at this time.
