Description
Travel back in time with this old, but not that old, violin. Made by Jackson-Guldan in Columbus, Ohio. Jackson-Guldan operated from about 1915 to 1971, so it's from sometime then, most likely towards the end of that time frame. The label identifies it as a Stradivarius copy. With a 13" body and 21-5/8" overall length, it's a 3/4-size instrument. It has ordinary age and play wear, but is in solid condition. The top has some scuffs and scrapes, notably under the bridge feet and the edges. There are no cracks. The sound post is standing. The pegs and peg holes are in good round. New tailpiece and new strings.
The bow is unmarked as to the maker and has no hair. The case is chipboard, worn, but in good solid condition.
It should be ready to play. Who's up for it
