    Description

For sale here is an old violin, as pictured.
Description:  This is a full-size violin, measuring about 23 1/2"  long overall, 14 3/8" body length and 8 1/8" wide at the widest point.  The
    top is spruce, the one-piece
back, sides and neck are maple and the finger board and pegs are ebony.   There is no purfling, and
there is no label or anything indicating maker's name or country of origin.  There is an old leather case, but no bow.
Condition:  As found at the local flea market and as seen in the pictures.
There are several minor top cracks and rib cracks and some open seams that need to be reglued.  The varnish
    it most
ly intact, but it has been disturbed in the bass lower bout of the top.  The pegs match and they fit well.  The sound post is standing up in position.
The condition of the violin can best be assessed by looking at the pictures.  Look at them; they are part of the description.
Case:  The violin came in an old leather case.  The case is structurally solid and pretty good on the inside, but it's a bit worn on the outside.  The shipping fee calculator is based on the weight of the violin and the case.  If you don't want the case, the package would be a lot lighter, so I think the shipping cost for just the violin would be a lot less.
To be made playable, this violin needs some seams reglued and the usual maintenance procedures:  sound post and bridge adjustments, strings, chinrest, etc.  Please contact me if you have any questions or if you want more pictures.
    This
is being sold as is, for a set up/repair project, with no return option.  Please bid accordingly.
