, a
Jacobus Stainer violin
and
bow
in good shape for its age.
On the inside of the Violin body, you can see:
“Copy of Jacobus Stainer”
“Made in Germany”
The Violin needs restoration or for parts only. Looking at the wear on the neck, one can see at one time, it was
very well used.
Overall, the violin is complete, has great patina and would make a great display along with the case.
The Geib-Challenge case:
All the case hardware is intact and in good working condition. One of the bow retaining claps is missing in the lid.
The handle is original and in good condition considering the age of this case.
The case closure claps are engraved with “G&S”
The outer covering of the case has an “Alligator” texture.
The interior is felt lined in purple and faded.
This case fits a 4/4 Violin/Fiddle.
