Vintage Carl Helmer Prague 1760 German Copy Violin 4/4 w/ Case P/R

Description

Item up for sale is a beautiful vintage violin in 4/4 size found with a hard case. This piece has an interior label that reads "Carl Helmer Prag 1760 Made in Germany". Violin shows a vertically running crack line throughout where the neck meets the peg box. Looks to have been fully broken at some point and repaired. Repair appears rather crude though when handling it feels stable with no give in the area of the repair. Violin body shows finish wear throughout with spots of wood wear consistent with use. Body shows no cracks, breaks or seam separations that we could detect.  Body of the instrument measures 14" with the entire piece measuring 23-4/8" in length. Hard case found with the instrument could use a light interior cleaning to the lining material. Exterior of the case shows notable surface wear and tear to the covering material. Top of the case has old label residue. Entire case measures 31" long by 9" wide by 5" in depth. Great pre-war piece that is just screaming for a new life.
