Rare! Vintage 1983 Gyruss Arcade Machine By Centuri, Serviced & Perfectly Working.
This was Konami/Centuri’s answer to the highly-successful Galaga machine and has a similar play and story, with the innovation that you circle the screen and shoot inward rather than bottom up. A super fun and fresh take on the original Space Invader play format.
I am the second owner of this machine and have owned it since 1994.
It has been well cared for and works perfectly. The cabinet is in very good shape and the electronics were recently cleaned and serviced. Plays like the day I bought it.
The original screen had been replaced with a monitor from a Qbert machine and has the typical burn in common of screens from this era. This does not impact the playability - once powered up, the graphics are crisp and clear. And this replacement screen has excellent resolution, brightness, and color.
The console has been upgraded with 4 high-impact rubberized, locking casters making it very easy to roll along the floor. (HUGE improvement).
I also had the power cord upgraded to an 8 foot, 16/3 gauge cord with a new heavy duty grounded plug.
This has been my baby and needs to go to a good home where it will be played again.
