Description
Breathtaking 1/2 size model A211 Pfretzschner violin crafted in Mittenwald, in West Germany, in 1964. This Copy of a Stradivarius is in phenomenal condition, with only the slightest signs of wear at the edging and very minor, near imperceptible scuffing - but the true glory of this instrument lies in its spectacular single piece back, with some of the most gorgeous grain and lateral flaming I have ever seen on a violin. The rich wavy amber grain has caramel rays of flame radiating across it like a setting sun. The instrument is set with genuine Caspari pegs. It was adjusted by Scherl & Roth and comes in a vintage Scherl & Roth case, that has a few minor dings, but is in great shape, with fully functional clasps and a plush green interior. Comes with a basic bow that seems straight and functional, though could certainly do with re-hairing. The bridge seems to ahve been patched under the e-string - a replcement might be called for. This is a stunning vintage instrument for a student who has demonstrated a passion for the art and has a well developed sense of style.
