  • Condition: Had the violin appraised at Kohlstein Music here in NY, and Manny said it's in great condition, though it could use some minor maintenance - specifically a new bridge, resealing, new strings, etc. Bow will need a re-hair.

    Mid-20th Century German Violin, 4/4 with
    365 mm oversized body so better for a physically larger person.
    Was described by NYC metro's premier stringed instrument dealer & luthier (Kohlstein Instruments) as being in great condition, most likely from the Mittenwald region of Germany.
    Shop around, and you'll see what the post WW2 Mittenwald violin market is like.
    Inspections by your expert, or try-outs welcome by advance appointment.
    This most definitely is NOT a beginner instrument, and unless he or she is some kind of prodigy, your child is not going to touch it unless you buy it.
    Due to the value of this instrument, shipping will require extra, mandatory insurance, and I don't know how much that will cost. Distance buyers should inquire with the destination zip code, or look it up independently.
