This is the O.E.M. water heater gas themostat for some American, State, A.O. Smith, Kenmore, Whirlpool, Craftsmaster, Premier Plus and others. Natural Gas only! Fits models with 2" cavities ( thick foam jacket.) NOT for use on Ultra Low Nox models.
***** Can be used on 1" cavity units ( thin foam jacket ) BUT PLEASE SEE SPECIAL NOTE BELOW.......
***** SPECIAL NOTE: This valve will work on units which originally came with short shank (1" insulation, thin foam jacket ) gas valves from the factory. Be advised, when doing so, you will have to extend the main burner tube, pilot tube and the wired connections by carefully pulling them out toward the gas valve which is easily done.
***** VERY IMPORTANT! If you do use this valve on a water heater that was originally supplied with a 1" shank gas valve (short shank ) once installed, this valve will stick out approximately 1" further than the original gas valve, which in some cases could be an issue. ( i.e. in a small closet you might not be able to shut the door or where the valve sticking out an extra 1" might interfere with other equipment etc., etc. )
Brand new, in the factory box. 155 degree F maximum temperature.
