    Description

Rare child’s 1/8 violin - Czech Strad copy
Description: Handmade copy of Antonius Stradivarius 1/8 Child’s violin – Czechoslovakian
With original bow and case. Instrument needs light repair, bow needs rehairing.
There are an abundance of Czech Strad copies out there, but this size (1/8) is extremely rare.
Provenance: This beautiful and delicate violin has been handed down from my grandmother, who played the violin as a child circa 1920. The printed card identifies “Martha Gifford,”(in photo as a young girl) my grandmother as the owner of the violin. The 776 E. Walnut St., Springfield, Mo. Address is the location of what was then Southwest Missouri State Teachers College and now the Juanita K Hammons performing arts center at Missouri State University. The school had a reputed liberal arts program and we believe this is where she took her lessons. To date we have not been able to identify the reference to H.J. Buckley of St. Louis on the back of the card.
