    Description

    A Joseph Guarneri del Gesu model violin made by Ottomar Hausmann in Mittenwald, c.1954, with a very strong sound, and in nearly new condition. The two-piece maple back has the makers brand at the top with narrow curl descending slightly from the center. The two-piece spruce table is of fine grain broadening towards the flanks. The varnish is an orange brown color over golden ground.
    I purchased this violin and bow in 1990 from Wrona’s House of Violin. Included is the original instrument appraisal information.
    WR Schuster Advanced Pernambuco Hexagonal Violin Bow, 4/4 size, Ebony Special Frog Silver/Ivory Inlay, reddish-brown color, 59grams.
    Made by the Schuster family well known for their bow quality.
