    Description

You are bidding on one Antique Violin, believed to be made by Ernst Reinhold Schmidt, a German violin maker who often recreated the works of famous violin makers - in this case, Carlo Bergonzi (1683-1747).
Inside the body is an inscription: “Anno 1733, Carlo Bergonzi, Fecit in Cremona” but no other markings are apparent elsewhere on the violin.
Most surfaces on the body of the violin are worn, and the strings need to be restrung or replaced. Some other small pieces of hardware (added after the violin was made) may be in need of repair as well. Overall though, the violin is attractively aged, and quite beautiful. Please see photos for condition, and feel free to reach out with questions or to ask for more pictures.
Also included in this listing are two bows, (one intact, one damaged), and a hard case. The bows are inlaid with mother of pearl, see photos for condition.
    Thank you!
