Before there was the Wii, there was this - the original video-game workout - Atari's classic Xs and Os football!
This is the rare 4 player version - only 901 were said to have been produced (this is serial #824).
Overall, the game is in good shape - all the lights on the "play selector" panel, both regular and LEDs work as they should. All of the lighted LED cone buttons work as they should, too. Even the coin door lights work and this game can accept quarters if you wish (original coin box also included).
This game does have one unique feature. At some point, it was made in to a color conversion but running on the original 4 player PCB. The field and text is now green and the players are white - all gameplay, sounds, etc. remain as they are on the untouched original. Not sure if this was a hack done at the factory, as this was late in the run and maybe they were going to try something new, or if this was done by an operator back in the day so he could drop in a more common G07 monitor (slight Galaga burn on this one, I believe), which is in there now. Either way, it does spice things up just a bit!
The original power brick and transformer remain but a switching power supply was installed at some point, as was an alternate volume control and isolation transformer.
The control panels have wear but have been recoated with black where possible. The colors are still good on the sections that still do have the colored original paint. The trac-balls were all stripped, cleaned and lubricated properly and all four spin fast and freely for your palm-pinching pleasure!
The artwork on the front and rear is original and in pretty good shape with no major sections of it missing - just typical wear and gouging/dinging from moving. The coin door is in great shape (the lock itself is only cosmetic, tho) and the artwork on the glass is pretty much perfect. The original cardboard bleacher "bezel" show its age but is still present. The black side panel door is original and has the original working lock and key.
The one thing that makes me sad about this cab is all four sides along the bottom had sustained some damage from the feet having been removed from the cab as some point (WHY?!?). New feet have been installed and the white and black areas touched-up as to not be noticeable from a distance now. The floor itself is clean with no water damage and the cab is rock solid.
Lastly, the gas shocks which hold up the very heavy control panel have worn out. I'll include a shipping tube that is sturdy enough and works well to hold the top up.
    Ready! Set!! ROLL!!!
