Trader-BOB's MUSIC offers a Vintage,
Antonius Stradivarius (Copy) Cremonensis Faciebat anno 1721 1/4 Size Violin. There is a trademark, on the label, a circle, containing A,+,S. The most unusual marking is on the bottom end of the violin, near the tailpin. "S1 over 3258", burnt in, see picture #8. I have never seen this marking on a violin.  The label looks like wood pulp based paper, not laid. Everything is printed, nothing written.  No idea on tha actual year of manufacture. Made in Czechoslovakia.  This was on a display picture frame, along with the included 22-1/2" bow, when I got it. Someone put some highlights on  the violin, and the bow, by lightly brushing on gold paint in certain areas. None on the back of the violin. The maple grain shows very well on the bottom end of the back. The finish looks all original, looking beyond the gold overlay. The tailpiece has the gold paint brushed onto it. The body is in great shape, no cracks, or seam separations. The soundpost is intact. The bridge is missing. The bow is unmarked, removed the frog, nothing underneath. The hair is still good. Tensions up fine. 19-1/2" long, 11-1/8" body length, 6-1/2" lower bout. 3-3/8" waist, 5" upper bout, 1-1/4" body thickness.
