    Description

This beautiful violin was made in Germany around 1900. The condition of this violin is amazing, with not a single crack anywhere. That is incredible for a 120+year old instrument.
    This stunning violin is
    labeled as a Stradivari model
, but Stradivari never made a violin with purfling so close to the edge, and with such dainty and precise pointy c-bout tips.
Mislabeled violins are commonplace and i
t is unmistakably a Don Nicolaus Amati model, who lived in Bologna in the18th century.
This exquisite violin was most likely made in the Ernst Martin workshop in Markneukirchen, Saxony, Germany. The Buegeleisen & Jacobsen Company in NYC were importers and would have put a Stradivarius label in it to
    fulfill
an order. B & J imported only the best German violins, and their instruments are known by music stores and violin dealers as always being among the best imported from Germany.  The E. Martin, Sachsen violins were available in several levels and price points, and this one is their top line model, and among the nicest I have had, and I have owned at least 30  E. Martin Sachsen over the years.  The tonewoods used on the back and ribs are beautiful, and exactly what the top Italian and German makers were searching for.  The high altitude
    southern slope
Alpine maple possesses wonderful qualities and combined with the medium grain spruce on this violin produces a sweet. warm and projecting tone. It needs to be used by a professional musician to be fully appreciated. It sounds very good.
Have fun playing it. This is an outstanding violin.
The new strings are German Silver. A set of synthetic strings would add even more color to this already fabulous instrument. The setup includes a bridge--an Aubert Made in France,
a new ebony tailpiece with German fine tuner, an adjustable Sacconi Tailgut, and a center mounted ebony chinrest. The pegs are original
Length of back is 14-1/16", upper bout 6-9/16", lower bout is 8-1/4", and overall is 23-1/4". The original amber varnish is in good condition.
A nice case and good quality bow will be included.
Will be packed and shipped professionally for a safe arrival. I go out of my way to make buyers happy. Please feel free to ask any questions about this instrument.
