ANTIQUE FRANCOIS BARZONI A CHATEAU THIERRY VIOLIN

Description

For sale is an antique Francois Barzoni violin. These violins were specially made in France in the mid 1800s for the J & A Beare violin company in London. Beautiful maple back with gorgeous texture, fine reddish oil varnish, black chamfer on the scroll.
The top has a repaired crack to the right of the tailpiece, and the violin needs a new bridge, but is otherwise in nice condition and has a sweet, bright tone. These instruments have sold at violin auctions in pristine condition for as much as k, and this is one of the better looking ones I've seen, besides the unfortunate crack. Sold as is, but willing to consider offers!
