    Description

This unlabeled Japanese violin is believed to have been made circa 1930 as per recent written appraisal from Carriage House Violins in MA and is in excellent condition.
The back is from one piece of quarter-cut poplar. The sides and scroll are from maple and mostly plain figure.
The top is from two pieces of spruce of narrow to broad grain. The golden brown varnish is evenly applied.
    The measurements are as follows:
    Length of back: 357mm
    Upper bouts: 169mm
    Middle bouts: 113mm
    Lower bouts: 210mm
The violin had some professional repair and set-up work done in 2014 which included re-bushing and retouching of the pegbox and subsequent fitting of new ebony tuning pegs; a new nut; new ebony fingerboard, bridge, soundpost, tailpiece, and chin rest.
It has a beautiful warm tone, responsive action and powerful dynamics.
Hard case and bow seen in photos will be included with the sale price but can be removed if the buyer desires. Just message me and a new price may be negotiated sans bow and/or case.
The bow has an octagonal pernambuco stick and is unbranded. The ebony frog is mounted in nickel and decorated with Parisian eyes. The ebony button is banded with nickel. Valued at 0.
