WORKING CONDITION:This game is in great working condition. It is running an original game board and the monitor has been replaced with the newest and last tube monitor that Wells Gardner made - a 19k7700. It is actually a digital tube CGA monitor - the only one I know of. It has an amazing picture - bright, sharp, colorful.
The controls have also been replaced with all new happ ultimate buttons and joystick. It plays like new. The coin doors are in good condition and have 2 working quarter mechs, new locks, and an original coin box. The marquee light has been replaced with a new fluorescent bulb and starter.
Vigilante was a "kit game" meaning that they did not make any dedicated, original Vigilante cabinets. All were put into other cabinets that were being converted. This particular cabinet was originally a Williams Stargate. Stargates were great candidates for conversion because for one thing, they never made any money. And for another thing, they had a horizontal monitor and a nice wooden control panel that was easy to drill new holes in. This could theoretically be converted back to Stargate - the original artwork is underneath the black paint. But it would be a pain to strip the black paint off this. In fact, this game is still running on the original Stargate transformer and power supply, both of which work perfectly.
This was a big earning game back in 1988. I talked to operators who said it was the best earning game they had ever operated and I was making a huge mistake if I didn't buy it. I didn't make the mistake. In fact, this is the last one I have. Now YOU are the one who will be making a big mistake if you don't buy it.
PHYSICAL CONDITION and RATINGS:
This game is in pretty good physical condition. The marquee, bezel, and control panel overlay are all in near perfect condition. The cabinet is a little rough near the bottom but otherwise is in good condition. It has new feet and mounting plates and has been glued and repaired to try to tighten up the bottom edges. Here is the deal. This was originally a Williams Stargate. Williams Stargate cabinets were made with a huge cavity at the bottom. The sides extend about 3 inches below the bottom of the game. I don't know why. Anyway, then williams mounted these wooden blocks and put feet into the blocks. However, unless the feet are almost screwed out entirely, they don't extend beyond the side walls that hang down so far. So most operators usually just let the game sit on the bottom edges of the size walls rather than ensure the feet were screwed doesn enough. 40 years of the 250 pound game sitting on the bottom of wooden sides was usually enough to see the wood (plywood) start to separate and fall apart. That had started to happen on this one, so I did the only thing I knew to do - fill the weakened wood with glue and then install some aluminum guards to protect the wood. Then I mounted new feet and foot plates to 2 x 4s and attached the 2 x 4s in the 3 inch cavity under the game. This allows the game to rest on the 4 metal feet rather than the wooden sides. Looks decent and prevents further damage.
There is nice sideart on one side of the game but not the other. The coin doors are in good condition and have 2 working quarter mechs, new locks, and an original coin box. The marquee light has been replaced with a new fluorescent bulb and starter.

NOTE:
Unlike some other sellers on eBay, the game I am selling is the actual game pictured and described above. Somehow, other sellers seem to think a single stock photo from google and a generic description like "great condition, but may have some scratches and blemishes" is good enough. They have some beat up junker in the warehouse and don't even get it ready to sell until it sells.
Not here at VintageVideogames.Arcadia. We don't list the game until it is completely through the restoration/refurbishment and is ready to ship out. And we take pictures of the exact game that we are selling. We want you to know exactly what you are buying.
LOCATION:
This game is located in sunny, beautiful downtown McLean, IL 61754. That's right...in the heart of Classic Arcade World where Arcadia: America's Playable Arcade Museum, Pinball Paradise, and Hotel Arcadia are located! I suggest buying this game and then making its pickup a fun family road trip! We have over 140 playable games and luxurious arcade-themed lodging options. Contact me for more details or look for hotel Arcadia on airbnb.
SHIPPING:
Included in the price is FREE WHITE GLOVE SHIPPING from North American Van Lines. They will bring it right inside your house (ground floor only). This is for the 48 contiguous United States only. If you want this shipped internationally, it will cost extra and we will have to discuss it and get a shipping quote before you pull the trigger.
Regarding shipping time, North American Van Lines only picks up from my location once a week. So shipping will probably take between 7 and 14 days depending on where you are in the country. In some rare cases possibly longer.
For what it's worth, I have been collecting (hoarding) games for over 30 years and selling them on eBay since about 1997. I have probably shipped two thousand games (many but not all on eBay), from individual games to full containers. You won't find a more reputable seller...check my feedback. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a money-back guarantee on this just because a lot can happen in shipping. What I CAN guarantee is that if you pick the game up, or if not when the game leaves my hands, it will be exactly as described and photoed above. And in 30 years of selling, I have never left anyone in the lurch or ripped anyone off. I'm a fair, honest guy...ask anyone.
