Description
Travel back in time with this oldviolin. The label identifies it as made by Dick Cozart in 1967. Now, online, I've read accounts that Cozart, whoever he was, just rehabbed others' violins and put his own labels on them. I do not know.
With a
13-7/8" body and 22-7/8" overall length, it's a 4/4 full-size violin. Cosmetically, it looks good. It has an odd sort of glossless matte natural finish. Sound post is standing. Four fine tuners.
The pegs and peg holes are in good round.
The
nut has several unevenly filed nut slots in it.
The bow is unmarked as to maker and in good condition.
The case, especially the outside, is quite worn, but functional. All the case handle and latches all work. The hinges are a bit dodgy, but work.
It's an interesting old violin that should be ready to play.
