    very nice unrestored 100% original New York license plate. 1948.  13 x 6 inches; black legend on yellow background.  completely straight and flat with excellent original paint as seen in the photos.  fresh out of the barn!  1948 is one of the toughest paint years: the black paint ate the yellow, yielding many plates that are bare steel highlights on a yellow background.
    this one has some of the best black paint around.
